It's a whole loaf, not the smaller cakes. And beside it is a note with his name on it.]

Birthday gift

[Sakura all but told Jun that Naruto's birthday was this week, but not the day. So on a random day of this week, Naruto will find a gift bag left in his room. Inside is a pair of chopsticks, a bowl, and a nice birthday card.

Except there's notably nothing written in the card. Or any indication of who left this gift. What a mystery. ]

[ JUN… Naruto isn't even aware that his birthday is coming up, so when he receives this gift? He's confused. He picks it up and inspects it carefully, unwrapping it gingerly after concluding there's no funny business. And…

Huh. The day's tomorrow, isn't it? He scratches his head. Doll had signed his last gift to him, and he'd know if it were from Sakura. Is it the ghosts? It's probably the ghosts. There's no trace or record of anyone having broken in…

…and now he feels bad, putting his ghostly phone friend through so much strife. But! He also perks up right after, because his birthday being celebrated is still a novelty he's getting used to. Uttering a quick apology and a promise to do better, he clutches the gift to his chest then sets off for the rest of the day in notably brighter spirits. Thanks, Jun! Your credit, though… ]

[Naruto will find that at one point during the day in his bedroom...a cake appears.

Not just any cake. But a cake shaped like a ramen filled bowl. The words 'Happy Birthday Naruto!' are written on a piece of candy fish cake.

[ ?? What's this? When he eventually comes across it, he stares at it inquisitively. It's ramen… but it's not? Curiously, he pokes at it and yelps when he recoils to unveil a cream-covered finger. Ninjas aren't mentally prepared for everything to be made of cake!

Haha, well I was wondering if you want to watch some anime with me.

It's Halloween, so it feels a little sad not to do anything for it.

[Or rather, he rather distract himself than think about how he was supposed to spend today with friends]

[ on Halloween night (or whenever Naruto next steps outside his house), he'll find a black paper bag with a decidedly... artsy? or maybe it's just sad? - rendition of a skull on the front. inside are a variety of sweets, a pre-packaged devils food cake from Fruits Basket, a few pumpkin-shaped cookies that are a little lopsided but taste well enough, and some cup ramen. there is a note: ]

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! I know you're probably busy enjoying festivities with your friends, so please have a good time. But not too good a time, because then you'd surely be getting yourself into some kind of trouble, and we have enough tricksters wandering about without your brand added to the mix!

Let's have tea sometime soon, as long as you promise not to turn into a girl. (Those are words I never thought I'd write. A first for everything. Wow!)

[ There's little more that makes Naruto happier than an outing with a good friend— it's late at night when he returns home riding on a high, but just when he thinks he's about to ready to wind down, he discovers Abel's package. It elicits a laugh because it's so— very him and also completely unexpected?! He's never experienced Halloween in his life before this point, yet it's quickly rising within his personal ranks between the two independent events.

Instead of a return text, Abel will hear a rap against his window the following morning. Whether his room is up on the first or second floor, Naruto will find a way to leave a plastic bag for him in plain view, either dangling from a tree branch or on the floor. Inside, there's a note plastered onto a bottle of ramune— he'll also find a package of instant oden and sweet dango. The writing is, uh. barely legible but… serviceable?! ]

Been drinking a lot of these recently even though we don't have them back at home! They're seriously amazing and I think everyone should try them at least once if they haven't already. It's also been getting colder recently and I always think about how that one granny always complains about it when it nears this time of year...

And if you keep bringing that up, I'm going to start thinking you actually miss it? I mean, I wouldn't blame you if you did fall in love at first sight cause I do have pretty good taste. 😉
